Someone hit my car in a car park :(
So, I work in a supermarket, car was parked in the car park.
Go out at 5:30 to find a note under my wiper with a name, reg number and phone number.
Tried calling the number but it's been turned off (I've also txt it just in case he's busy or something), but no reply.
There's some cosmetic damage to the paintwork, and front left side of my bumper *sadface*
Where do I go from here? I'm not sure if it's worth involving the police or whatever, but I'd like the damage to get fixed.

What are you worried about ?0 -
Check the Insurance on https://www.askmid.co.uk
The guy could be at work and has the phone turned off.The man without a signature.0 -
Keep trying the number and when you realise tomorrow that its false then you have a choice of either claiming on your own insurance or paying yourself to get it repaired.
(hope im wrong and there are still some honest people out there)Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
I've asked work to see if there's CCTV. I mean, he wrote his reg number wrong the first time (it's scored out) and I've never done anything like this before so that's why I'm not sure what to do0

I would assume the person is being honest before we know otherwise.

There was the note left on a car that read "I just hit your car and I'm writing this note so that the people who saw me think I'm leaving you my details"0

That is my concern. IDK, if he doesn't answer tomorrow I'll call my insurance company and see if they can contact the owner of the car.0 -
Er, if you do you set in motion a train of events that may ultimately leave you paying dearly for something that was not your fault.
As this happened on private property, the police will not assist. The DVLA will, however, provide you with the Registered Keeper of the VRM you supply - only then will you know if you've been set up.0 -
Sadly it could be a wrong number and police won't be all that interested as no one was hurt.
If it's cosmetic damage I'd suck it up - cheaper than the excess you'd have to pay on the insurance, and then the extra premium next year.
