Obtaining building regularisation

If an extension is built without building controls approval but a regularisation certificate is obtained at a later date, would this satisfy future buyers?

Probably. It is better than the alternative of indemnity insurance, where you have to keep the whole thing a secret.You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

We're buying a house with an attic conversion that didn't have building regs. The vendors are trying to get a regularisation certificate. This is OK for me but I don't want a problem on my hands when I come to sell.0

I see no reason why a regularisation certificate wouldn't be enough - it's basically the same thing but done after the fact, no?0

Regularisation means no further enforcement action and does provide partial assurance as to the integrity of the work. This is as good as it gets

Should be fine. As in order to issue one the Building Inspector will require access to covered areas. Even is this results in disturbance. Hope your vendors understand this.0
