O2 woes - do i have to accept a black handset?

My lovely purple blackberry broke 3 weeks ago.
The woeful loan phone is pitiful and so far, O2 repairs division and staff have tried to fob me off twice with a new black handset - which to my mind, is not a like for like replacement and puts them in breach of my 24 month contract.
Can anyone offer any advice/experiences on this?
Thanks for listening

Unless you have additional insurance, the offer of a loan phone while yours is being repaired is purely at their discretion. They don't have to give you anything at all.
It's not a breach of your contract as your handset is separate from the 24 month airtime contract that you agreed to which you have to keep on paying even if they don't supply a loan phone.
Sorry it's probably not what you wanted to hear!0 -
It is like for like, unfortunately colour doesn't come into it and they will have a clause somewhere saying that the replacement may be a different colour.0

Colour has never been a factor. Because some modals are only produced in a certain colour as 'special editions' and once stock has gone that's it...0

I'd just persevere. Escalate if you have to. End of the day you chose and paid for a black phone.
If you bought a black car and the turned up with a a bright pink one you'd not be happy.
I have a white phone, I'd not accept a black one as a replacement.
I'm quite surprised actually, my friend just had her S3 replaced and asked if there was any chance they'd switch it for a white one, they said no as the replacement had to be like for like.Sigless0 -

This is slightly different, Blackberry did a limited edition [STRIKE]chav[/STRIKE] purple edition. It was only on sale for a fixed time period and no longer stocked.
OP is now being offered a normal black version.====0 -
Ah. Didn't know that. if its not being made anymore op and they have none. They can't give you one sadly.
Maybe ask them for a white one instead?Sigless0
