    Lido near Venice is lovely - I've been several times (stayed at the Giardinetto and Villa Parco - 20-minute No 1 vaporetto to the rest of Venice and up the Grand Canal, runs 24/7). I'm off to Gozo on Wednesday - combination of some of the best bluest water in the Med, plus loads of history and culture. Malta is a 20-minute ferry ride away.

    Sorry, but already been to Barcelona.
    Salou is the most boring resort in the world though really cheap.

    I think they were referring more to the riots currently going on in Istanbul
