Some great no buying going on! Our challenge here is not to buy anything new:

Yesterday I upcycled a dress and my rather battered Toms shoes with some box dye. I also found a great condition bouncer seat for the womb baby in a charity shop for £3.

Today I have been reading about 'boro mending' and am thinking of trying it out on a pair of converse style shoes I have, which are on the verge of falling apart.

I am in the PINK today! pink trousers and pink t.shirt.
It is a bit unusual for me as for the last few years my 3 main colours are blue, purple and gray. Ok, reds @ Christmas.
Black trousers for going out. Most people in town wear black trousers! I do not think I would dare wear a summer dress to the shops..

My luck is here today = postie brought another freebie.
    Olay regenerist wrinkle relaxing complex.7ml.
Ok another face cream, I have a collection. won, freebies, given. and the one I am trialing for Clix at the moment.

Prize draw win = Samsung digital camera.

I have been looking through the kitchen cupboards/fridge this morning and moving things around. Filling up the tea caddy and salt pots. Grating cheese. Making jelly. Checking dates. It is funny how Mrs nobody does these jobs. Someone has to do them and it could be anybody... It is like watering the pot plants and pushing the vacuum around! done by magic :0).

I have not been out so have have not spent any pennies again.
Oh bought x2 loafs and some marg this morning.
May walk the dog later if no one else volunteers :/
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

It will feel important to have your hair as you want atm. If you read the 5 OS Pleasures in your Day Thread, sparrer writes of excellent results doing her own, buying @£land. In fact, she's been using only half of late - shortish hair.

Just found this site and can confirm that I buy my hair dye at £1 a box, using half at a time so 50p for an essential morale boost every few weeks.

I don't use conditioner (other than the ones I get via the freebie board), instead I use olive oil which I comb through damp hair and leave on as long as possible, overnight is good, then wash out and my hair is soft, silky and in excellent condition.

There's a good forum 'Lots more Sneaky Ways to save the pennies' which is very useful, I'll also be bookmarking this one as having just spent all my savings on what may be my last car I need to scrimp for a while to replace the £afety net. Thanks OP for starting the thread :)

I shall aim to do a weekly update every Saturday. So to kick off this week I have
    - set up my blog. Good freebie activity:D
-picked elderflowers. Some has been made into cordial and some I am drying in the hope of making elderflower vinegar. Lots of recipes on the net for this.
-I succeeded in buying my sister's two birthday pressies and a card for a friend from the charity shop but couldn't find anything there suitable for chum so bought new. Also found the blind to cut down to reuse for the bathroom.
-Walked to the annual flower festival at the church. Donation only and on the way home went into Sainsburys next door and bought some reduced items.
-Used some money off vouchers from my Mum in Mr T today for my weekly shop. £5 off:D
-Finished reading a pile of mags I had got from a freecycler- now passed onto my sister and picked up a tennis racquet and a mountain bike manual for the small person from freecycle.
-Managed to get the washing done on the sunny days this week so free electricity from the solar panels used and all lined dried in the garden [don't have a TD]
-Found a self seeded valerian in the front garden. Free plant
    - Probably TMI but I did invest in some new undercarriage garments. There are some things that need to be new imho although I have heard of people making their own knickers.

    Hi all

Yes the lip balm was from the freebie page. Great offer!

So this morning I was chopping up cauliflower florets for curry tonight, was about to throw away the leaves but then thought "what can I make with these?".Chopped them up small with an onion, potato, carrot and tin of tomatoes, the rest of the pesto (shook up the jar with water) and boiled them up - now I have a delicious pesto and veg soup that will do me for work all week!

Thanks again for the inspiration to try and use everything up and not have to buy anything new. xx

Anita55 - to find someone's blog you click on their name [where all their previous posts etc are stored] and then click on visit their home page. I can heartily recommend Ilona's blog [post 31 page 2] for an inspirational thrifty/frugal living blog.
