I tried to get some info from EON about changing tariffs but according to the system my address does not exist even though I have an online account with them in that address, and they supply electricity to that address, and all my bills are in that address!!

    Morning,

If you already have an online account for that address, then you can just log in as normal and click the best deal for you link.

You will then be able to do a quote and pick a tariff from the info already on your account.

    Hope this helps.

    Helena :)

    Argh.
So, I ordered quite a few things over the past few weeks online. 90% arrived fine, but after waiting in all day Thursday and Friday for an item, I eventually asked the seller to provide tracking info. The tracking info requested that I call the depot.
The depot said they needed to check my address, and upon confirming, they said my address didn't exist. I pointed out that a) I'm not an idiot, it does exist and b) I have plenty of other couriers delivering OK. They also claimed their driver tried to call me, but lets not go there (no missed calls all day. I had my phone out as I was expecting a call if/when the driver got lost).
So when I got off the phone I typed my postcode into several mapping websites. Not one located it correctly.
The house was built 13 months ago, and the road completed 12 months ago. My house is viewable on google satellite, but my postcode and address are pinpointed on there about 2 miles away :/ and no SatNav I've seen so far can locate it either, even a TomTom with updated maps.
It's really annoying me now, as I'm forever having calls from lost delivery drivers/taxi drivers/takeaway delivery people/family/friends. Is there anything I can do about it? Is there a central agency or a main company who deal with maps?

When we moved into our new house a few years back we our postcode was not recognised at all. What made it worse that we had arranged for sky tv to install all the stuff but when we wanted our landline activated they were unable to find us even though we had television from them! We still get the occasional call from people who are still unable to find us!

Our house is about 7 years old now and the street doesn't appear on google maps or satnavs. They demolished a block of flats and 'created' a cul-de-sac with houses on where it was. Our postcode only started working properly maybe a year ago, satnavs don't recognise it.

I am also stuck with EE as a mobile provider as when I tried to get credit checks done for the other companies, they don't recognise the address so it insta-fails the credit check. EE it goes through straight away, and that seems to only be because when I moved house I was with them and changed address, which they had to input all manually as postcode not recognised. It's a pain in the *$^".

My previous house was the same, tom-toms said our house was about 2 miles down the road.

Had a couple of couriers call and say cant find us, asked them where they where, and they would all say 'by Tesco Express', would then have to tell them we were the other end of the road.

If your house / road location is proving troublesome check http://www.google.co.uk/mapmaker which will enable you to add/edit /change map objects.

Google check your suggestions and if its confirmed, the changes will be incorporated on Google maps.
