No right of return means you are stuck with it even if you do not like it unless it is faulty.
Yes, but the T&Cs at Asda are as follows:
"We hope you are always happy with your Asda purchase; however, if you are not completely satisfied we are happy to… Exchange or Refund as per the policy below. For all Music, Video and Games you have 28 days to change your mind. Products must be returned in their original condition** and supported by proof of purchase"
So if you have a game in its original condition and have proof of purchase, you can return it for exchange or refund. The store can't decide later they will not honour this. This is the contract they entered into when they agreed the sale.0 -
As per policy below.... which refers to one time only exchangePlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

You cannot selectively edit the policy to suit your viewpoint! Read as a whole (see quote by Pound above), it is clear that the policy allows for a change of title (another game), not a refund.0 -

Type "exchange of title" into Google and the only thing you'll find is web pages about transferring the ownership of something from one person to another and Asda's return policy. If they mean swap it for another game it's a very poor way of wording it. You don't buy a title, you buy a game, the title is a property of the game.0

It doesn't take a genius to work out what it means - given the context, I cannot see that it would mean anything else:
"I would like a video game for my birthday"
"What title would you like?"0 -

Indeed, the average man on the street would read it like that.

I despair sometimes. This could be a very simple question, but has been made very difficult.
Let's review.
The customer has NO right to return it for a refund.
The customer DOES have a right to return and swap it for a different game, so long as it is AS SOLD (so in it's shrinkwrap), and it's NOT BEEN SWAPPED ONCE ALREADY. This is a right, because it formed part of the original sale contract, even though it's not a STATUTORY RIGHT.
Now everybody go outside and play.0 -

I'm not selectively editing. It clearly states at the top of the page "Exchange or refund". It does not state that refunds are not permitted for video games, it states "you have 28 days to change your mind. Products must be returned in their original condition** and supported by proof of purchase". It also says "We will offer a one-time-only exchange of title", which would suggest a restriction on the exchange, not the refund part of the contract.
If they mean that they'll only accept a single exchange and they don't accept refunds, then they should make that clear.
Other stores clearly state "We can not provide refunds or exchanges on video game purchases unless they are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.". Makes far more sense and clears any confusion.0 -

Disagree, i deal with DVD's & Games, They are refered to as titles.
There is not an automatic right for refund or exchange unless the title is faulty, they will then exchange the title. They do not have to state they wont refund it as once you have bought it its yours.
This is the same though out the rest of the store, esentially once you have bought it they dont have to give you a refund or exchange unless its faulty. They give you additional rights as a jesture of good will via a company policy."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
