How to cancel an Orange contract

My 24month contract with Orange finishes next month and I'm at the stage of giving them one months notice and leaving to go elsewhere. My question is do I just phone 150 and say I'm giving them notice to cancel the contract or do I need to put it into writing as well and if so do they need to receive the letter one month before the contract is due up? Also I want to keep the same number how do I go about that? I've always been with Orange so I have no idea what I'm supposed to do to leave them

give 30 days notice by calling customer service ask that u wish to leave they will give u pac to port your number to another network-dont bother with a letter

Your contract doesn't end. Your minimum term does.
Ask for your PAC and use it within 30 days.

If you do not need your old number don't ask for a PAC.

Orange will refuse to cancel your contract if you ask for a PAC and the number doesn't port - even if you gave the required notice.

It adds a needless complication to a simple termination. As macman notes, your contract simply switches to a 30 day minmum term, so if you are looking for a yet-to-launch new handset, choose your own departure.
