thanks everyone , i went back online today and i think i have kinda settled on the idea of going now as i was kinda worried about the whole thing after Benidorm,

we were hoping to do pumakkale but every trip we see you have to go to a carpet factory or onyx factory first and we dont really want to do this ... i just wanna go to pumakkale for a few hours rest and relaxation then back to the hotel ... has anyone been to Pumakkale ? is it possible to just hire a taxi or something to take us or is it maybe 2 hours away in a taxi ?

really appreciate the help i feel calmer now :)
  • Pumakkale is magic, so differant than any other touist atraction I can think of, take you swimming gear if you like swimming in hot thermal water,it is just a strang landscape. Cant help with transport as we were on a coach trip.

It'll be a very expensive taxi. the reason all the excursions take you to a factory is, as far as I'm aware, it's law that they show you locally produced goods on any trip. Most of that sort of place do very good apple tea though, so not too much to worry about. ;)

its just it was a full day trip with only 35 mins spent at Pumakkale ... more time was spent at the onyx factory and the carpet factory and it cost £50 each ... so £50 each for 35 mins in Pumakkale seems a bit excessive imho ... yes you got lunch but we are all inclusive so that was of no real interest to us
  • 35 minutes is a very short time to spend at Pumakkale, you will not do much paddling !!

thats exactly what i thought and at £50 each its a bit expensive, basically nearly £100 an hour each to do what exactly it is we want to do and 7.5 hours doing other things ( driving visiting factories etc) ... so i am looking for more time at pumakkale, preferably 2 hours but atleast 1.5

I would wait until you arrive at your resort, then go check out a few of the local tourist agencies, ask them about their Pamukkale trips, how much, how long do you get at Pamukkale itself etc etc.
