I got my dress from Lady Fair of Matlock

I picked out about 5 dresses (it was the first shop i tried) and picked something out of each on that I liked and disliked.

The lady in the shop took a dress off the rail and said here, try this one. I said I didn't really like it but she said to try it anyway.

Anyway I got it on and loved it - so did mum.

Lynne (the lady in the shop) told me not to make my mind up that day and to go away and think about it. She said she was going on holiday the following day - when she returned the following week the dress was going down to half price!!!!!

Needless to say I waited a week and called back to ask them to hold it for me. Got it for £350 so was one happy bride to be.

They have a rail in the shop all the time with sale items on.

Vows in Bury, Manchester are having a sale, didn't get to go in as they don't allow prams but they seemed to have quite a few dresses on sale.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I am having a very basic ceremony at a registry office and have a dress - its a dress that I bought a long time ago in a sale (not a bride dress), its really elegant and I have never worn it.

Problem is, I have put on weight but have until September to lose the weight, so I waver between terrified panic and smugness that I have a dress already(!) so I keep checking on this thread - just in case!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    Thought I'd throw this in:

Wedding Belles in Kibworth, Leicestershire are closing down due to retirement and have at least 40% off everything (dresses, shoes, veils, underwear, jewellery) and dresses start from £150!

The girls there are fab! I got my dress yest. It was £1895 marked down to £325!! I couldn't believe it!! Its a Suzanne Neville and is so well made! It looks fab and I'm so excited!!

    Hope this helps somebody out!!

  • http://www.essexwedding.org/news.html special occasions in stanford le hope essex have a big sale this sunday
  • Not a sale but have noticed that Littlewoods are now doing bridal dresses. Also some of there Women's dresses would make very nice bridesmaid dresses.
  • Had something through post re Francesca Bridalwear in Walsall and Newport South Wales. It is a discount outlet Don't know what it is like as I bought my dress in a sample sale in Beatties Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago.
Also I was shopping at Cheshire Oaks last Nov and the Monsoon shop had up to 75% off the wedding dresses.

Oh should add that I bought some shoes from New Look for £5. They are a really pale gold high heal - which sounds horrible but isn't.
