    thank you :)

where does this drop off do you know ?

last time we went straight to the hotel from the airport

but will want to go to the zoo this time :)

the zoo is on the outskirts of the city, my grandparents used to live around the corner from it and there is a lovely big park there too, but to be honest not a practical thing to do on a day trip. if you get a taxi you may well have one of my cousins driving as two do pickups from the airport.

why do you say it won't be practical on a daytrip ? :)

when we went last yr ,we passed the zoo whilst on the tour bus

we plan(ned!) to get the bus to the city, then onto the tour bus,and get off and on again at the zoo

is this not a good plan ?

If you are going by bus from the airport to the centre, don't use the Airbus, which is about 6 or 7 euros each way per person. It is much cheaper to use the 41 service, which leaves from outside the terminal. It's about 1.30 euros.
The Family Rambler ticket is valid on the Airlink bus so 10 Euros for 2 adults and 3 kids would probably be a better bet, not to mention quicker.

  • Thought children under 5 were free on transport? You can use the kellogs zoo vouchers off cereal packs for a free ticket, I have a spare if you need one

    Hi Rachie B
The airport bus drops you off on O'connell street. You can use this ticket to get the bus to the zoo and all around Dublin city centre as it's a day rambler but not on the tour bus, obviously not as interesting as the tour bus but cheaper.

and can we get back to the airport on the same bus / ticket at the end of the day too ?

sorry for all the Qs !

not practical as you will no doubt spend several hours at the zoo and you only have a day after all. and there is so much else to see, for day trips get a taster of the city - take in the sights so to say and on longer trips you can dedicate more time to things you want to see more of .

Just landed back today i went for 2p including tax :D

Anyway the bus has now gone up to €2 (number 41) to the centre and you need to have coins as no notes are accepted and no change... €23 for a taxi (no traffic)

we did that last yr,just myself and hubby on our 2 day trip :)

we are taking the children this time, hence why we want to visit the zoo.

the youngest wants to go on a plane! he was only 22 months the last time he flew so cant remember it :)

thanks for your input though :)
