What to do in Dublin for the day

Hello

I managed to get a flight to Dublin for myself, husband and 3 kids for 10p. One of my kids is 13 and the other 2 are 3 and 2. We are looking for any advice on what to do in Dublin (we are on a tight budget!!)

we went for the day, and did the open top bus tour which takes you round all the main landmarks, and you get to see a lot of it that would be too far to cover in a day.we also did the shops and looked round trinity college, oh and went to see the oscar wilde statue and had a picnic in the park where it is.Have a great day:p :p

Buy your bus ticket on line, it's only 10 euros for a family ticket which includes the airport bus to Dublin city centre.

If you are going by bus from the airport to the centre, don't use the Airbus, which is about 6 or 7 euros each way per person. It is much cheaper to use the 41 service, which leaves from outside the terminal. It's about 1.30 euros. (Unless you do the bus tour which includes transfers.)

Kilmainham jail is worth seeing, although the kids may not be so keen. Bewlays is excellent, as already posted, for tea, coffee, cakes, and atmosphere. The Natural History Museum may appeal to kids as well as adults. And don't forget to drink some of the lovely Black Stuff!

take a trip on the river boat lasts about 45 mins and only one doing this, just by the main bridge over the river. Make sure you have the right change for the busses and do not get on them at rush hr as nothing rush about and you can sit on the bus in the centre of dublin for a good hour, so airport run would take best part of 2 hrs with all the stops, there are of course musuems and art galleries but it rather depends on what age your children are,

and there are a couple of tour buses too,
