in Water bills
Wondering if anyone can help, we are looking to move into a 3 bed house, there are 2 of us at the moment and a baby on the way.
The house that we are looking at is a big 1900 victorian 3 level kind of house with a loft room.
Is there any way to find out how much water rates would likely be? I cant find any guidance by searching by post code what it would likely be. We will be under welsh water as well if that makes any difference.
I not sure yet if the new house is metered need to check, still looking at it, nothing definite. But as its an old hoise with a very long garden to the front pavement im not sure they would be able to put a meter in anyway.
Thanks in advance.

Ring Wesh Water and:
A. Ask if it is on a meter.
B. If not on a meter, its Rateable Value(RV). They will be able to tell you exactly the annual cost for 2013/14 or you can look it up on the internet.
The RV - and thus charges - can vary tremendously.
Water meters can be installed inside the house if it is not possible to install on pavement - but a long garden will not stop a meter being fitted.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply, ill give welsh water a call tomorrow, just wondering if there was a set table per bedrooms I could have a look today.
We live in a 1 bed flat at the moment on rv as they said they wouldnt be able to install a water meter to the property, there is a long front garden steep, with lots of sets of steps up to our property, I thought it might be the same.
Will call up for more info tomorrow, thanks again.0 -
It has nothing at llto with the number of bedrooms or the size of the property (or the CT band). It's purely based on the RV. Once you have the RV, it's easy to work out the annual cost.
With a house, the meter will be under the pavement unless there is a shared supply, which is presumably why your current flat is not metered. The garden length has no relevance. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
