does anyone know if there is a Max number of time you could do the switch service from one current account?

i have an old Barclays current account that i don't use i have used it once to get the FlexDirect bonus but am thinking of opening a Halifax current account for the £100 joining bonus and the £5 a month?

also is applying for 3 current accounts a good idea in the space of a month or two?

So it has been an ok month so far as I have maxed out my Nationwide FlexDirect account with the £2500 to get the best out of the account. I have also just paid the second months max £300 into the First Direct regular saving account.

My next focus is to fill this years ISA allowance of which I have about £2400 left. After this I will look at what accounts are best to start filling up that give the best returns. thinking of Lloyds vantage or BOS vantage next? what would you do?

I have been posting and keeping on eye on another thread Just for fun - whats your average interest rate across savings? and after paying in more lately my rate is now 3.03% average.

Thats the plan! I should be able to fill whats left of this years in the next 3 months. so i will need an other account that i can pay into and earn a little from it between november to april over this time i could save up to a possible £4,500. then in april when the allowance becomes open i will just transfer it all in to it making it TAX free.

so the last month i have been saving hard building up to now have:

    Barclays Cash ISA - £9504 @ 2.25%
    Nationwide FlexDirect - £2500 @ 5% MAXED
    First Direct Regular Saving - £600 @ 6% (2 of 12 payments done)

    Total Saving pot: £12,604

in a few days the next lot of £300 goes into the First Direct Regular Saving that money is in my FD current account at the moment so its more like £12,904 total.

Sadly i have been on holiday the last week so i have spent more on my 123 credit card. i have the money to pay this off IN FULL i just wanted to get the cashback. my car tax is also due (£140) so next month i may not be able to save as much as i would have liked but o well thats life. i did have a good holiday so can't think about it that much. i watched what i spent but was not as tight as i am 90% of the year.

the aim is to have as much over £15,000 by christmas so i am still on track to beat that.

I have about £1500 free on this year ISA allowance then i will need to look into an other saving account to put my money. i have been reading and trying out the practice account on share.com and have made £300 profit in 2 months but i am not ready to start putting my real money yet. i still need to read more.

  • So i got my £68 for opening the Flexdirect i opened it on the 27th June and got it 27th August so all in all not that long this was via TopCashBack.

This month in interest i got £16.69 from my ISA, £8.31 After tax in my FlexDirect and around £7.80 in my FD reg. saving account but this is paid in one go with the other 11 months at the end. So total this month it was about £32.79ish Is this good? is this bad?
