I've just had a play around with a spreadsheet I keep.

Across around 20 accounts (Regular saver, instant, ISA, current accounts, fixed rate etc) I've worked out what I'm getting.

I've ignored a couple of RPI and Stock Market prediction type of accounts.

My magic number that I come out with is 4.5% before tax.

Hows everyone else doing in these tricky times?

Until the end of October we're doing very nicely. And then starts a multi-year saga of maturing accounts, sodit.
Free the dunston one next time too.

It's a bit hard to average out as some are regular savers. Also you quote pre-tax but that would undervalue my 5% ISA (I'll be sorry to see that come to an end).

Broadly though everything apart from my Easy Access account pays 4.3% - 8%

Yes, you are right there is no reason I can't use the current balance. OK I have done the calculation for everything and it comes out at 4.6%

That will steadily drop from September onwards though as the best ones start to expire.
