TalkTalk deal with £100 Love2Shop voucher - now £50? A con?

I followed the MSE offer dated May 15 2013 for TalkTalk :-

"Ends Wed. A YEAR's unlimited b'band & line rent £53 (equiv £4.40/mth) MSE Blagged. TalkTalk's Essentials* deal's the cheapest we've ever seen. You get A) Line rent. Usually £14.95/mth, but later in sign-up process opt to pay £114 for a yr upfront, equiv £9.50/mth. B) Unltd b'band. £3.25/mth avail to 85% of UK. C) Free £100 Love2Shop vouch. Use in Argos, Boots, B&Q etc. Factor as cash & it's 53 over the year's contract. FULL info: Cheap Broadband"

Notice point (c), the Free £100 Love2Shop voucher.

I happily switched my broadband from O2(now Sky) to TalkTalk. Shortly after going Live, I enquired about my vouchers and got a reply stating £50 is dispatched ...£50?!?

Going back to the same same MSE link, it now states £70?!

I'm really confused as I originally thought I would get £100 vouchers but now I don't have "proof" that I am entitled to that value in vouchers - I only have that dated MSE email.

Anyone else have this issue having switched to TalkTalk with this same offer?

    Never sure what 'blagged' is inferred to mean on this site - gues it infers some sort of recommendation.

    So you didn't get what MSE said you would - then yes - MSE have conned you.
  • Ok, the TalkTalk support agent got the details wrong in the reply email - he/she meant to say £100 rather than £50. And sure enough, £100 Love2Shop vouchers arrived in the post today, was worried for a moment then, but thanks MSE/TalkTalk!

    I hadn't received my love2shop £100 voucher either, I phoned once and the guy said it would be sent about a month after the account went live (30th May). So I called again today. first of all I was put on hold for 40minutes then the line went dead, so I called again and begged and pleaded not to be put on hold and kept telling them to look at the note on my account from last time where I had been promised it would be sent to me... eventually I was put through to the complaints department, the lady there said she could credit my account with £50 and I refused, saying it should be £100. The whole call took 20 minutes (so an hour in total) but the end result is my account has been credited with £100 and a note has been added to my account saying she has promised that when I cancel in May next year I will be refunded any remaining credit.... so basically I don't have to pay anything else for the rest of my year's contract and when I leave I'll get a little pay out :) Was worth an hour on the phone.... although I'm sure it will require more calls next year.
