One final question, they're offering DirectTalker 1000 with 18 months half-price line rental provided I go with a ghastly cheap pink handset. If I get rid of the handset and use my own new one I've just bought, will they pick up on that and start charging me the full line-rental?
Thanks for the tip about the promo code, btw. Very useful.
I went with the same tariff but with the N80r which was available at the time... I now use a generic N73 and not had any problems, think they only nag you if you use the non-3g carrier, they must be charged by orange for this I guess.SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80

Thanks,
I've decided to go for it and hope for the best. Apparently it's very rare to get disconnected for using a non-3 unlocked handset as long as you keep to using UMTS. It would have been nice to roll back to GSM for data access where necessary, but that's a limitation I can probably live with.

I think I'm very qualified to answer this question!!!!
I have 3 contracts - one for almost 2 years now. And for ALL 3 I have sold the given phone AND USED MY OWN!
Never have they even mentioned it!!!!!
BUT BE warned is MUST be a 3G phone otherwise the'll disconnect you!!!!!0 -
Thanks guys, I ordered a pink U880 on DT1000, 18 months half price line-rental tracked through Quidco who should give me £82.50 cashback. I used the BT headset code, but I haven't seen any reference to it on any of the confirmation stuff I've received yet. Does this mean it didn't register, or will the headset simply come with the handset?
Many thanks once again, really helped in making a decision.0 -
The headset just arrives in the package, there's no mention on the order etc.0

Join the club, MightMax. Real men use Pink Phones ! I ordered the same price plan as you did as I can't find any other network that offers such good value. My pink LG  arrived last week and it's not as bad a colour as it looked on screen. If any of my mates ask, I just tell them that its belongs to the Mrs. Anyway, you can pick another one off ebay with the savings. My RockDock was not in stock so it arrived in a separate package a few days later. As for the free BT headset, it does not show on the confirmation form, but it comes in the same pack as with the phone - so no worries there.
Tried the video-calling (as you get 50 min free each month) and its great ! The Planet 3 is worth it too. So goodbye to t-mobile after more than 10 years !0 -
I've just added X-Series Silver to my existing 3 contract but I can't find anywhere on the 3 site to download the Skype application. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
