Payment required for Cloud 'free' Wifi on London Overground

Options
Today, for the first time, I was blocked from using the cloud Wi-fi on my iPod Touch on London Overground and told that I would have to pay in future and buy time. I have never had this before or received any info about my quota of time before today.
Is it just that i had used up the 59 minutes available to me for today (I had been using it quite a bit when at Stratford westfield) or is it that I would always have to pay in future even when it is advertised as free?

It's for this reason I believe. Overground Cloud hotspots limit you to an hour per day.

But I had barely used it on London overground today . I gave up earlier because I lost the wi fi connection between stations and the it kept asking me to enter my password again .

Use the Cloud App - it allows an auto login with no requirement to authenticate each time. I'm unsure if the time limits remain - I used to recall a 20 min max previously, but not now.

Thought I had already done this but perhaps I didn't complete the login first time . Have just tried again so will test the automatic login tomorrow .

To be honest, I never think about the Cloud now, it just connects and I never think of it as I don't even have to acknowledge the home landing page.

I use this on the underground (Glasgow) and at each arrival platform I'm up and running n seconds!

I used it on London Overground today without any problem . The service on the tube in London is provided by Virgin.
