Hi, I've been out of old style ways for a couple of months now and just buying whatever takes my fancy :( as a consequence I've waaaay overspent and really need to rein in my spending and start to prepare for the challenging times ahead and build a buffer just in case! so here I am back again to try and get this budget thing once and for all :) Therefore can I please ask to be put down for:

    £300.00

This will be for everything, including meat from my local farm shop :) I'm really excited by the challenge and look forward to finally meeting a budget target!!

Good luck to you all and thank you Zippychick for starting July's challenge :)

    Hello,

I'd like to be in for July with £200 will be in June til end of calendar month.

This covers all household items, toiletries and food for me, two teenagers and a completely spoilt Jack Russell. It doesn't include eating out or petrol.

I've tried £180 the last couple of months, didn't manage it last month and have £10ish left this month with £5 worth of nectar points also available to spend.

We are going to South Africa to help children who have been orphaned by Aids and HIV on July 28, found out this week we will also be helping build a toilet. While we are there we will prepare meals for the children and their care workers of something called pap, which is like rice and water mixed together. I'm just mentioning this as you can imagine, it's making me and my children think about what we consume, seems so weird to be thinking out loud that I haven't managed to stick to £180 for the month when these kids are eating that every day.

Anyway another lot of wittering from me, sorry.

Thank you so much to everyone for running, maintaining and contributing to this thread, you have made a brilliant difference to our family.

Good luck Aimingforbetter I was shopping more in Aldi, but have slunk back to Sains for YS stuff, really should go back, fruit and veg is much better value I think, especially the Super Six.

Have a great weekend all, hope the sun is shining x

Good luck with your Project would love to know more, I was in Africa, Lagos, Nigeria for a year in the 80`s so witnessed for the first time what Poverty was. It left me with a very humble feeling and I hope to forever count my blessings and to share when I can.

  • Hello can you put me down for £200 please.

Thats for me and my OH from 28th June to 23rd July and includes a takeaway on my birthday too.

I start a new job and move house on the 1st july so things will be tight with the cost of van hire and decorating and new flooring. Good thing is my new pay day will be a week earlier so will only have 4 shops to cover.

Hi, everyone. I have been following all you lovely people for the last few weeks. Last year I was very good with budgeting and meal planning but it went a bit pear shaped. Please could I join in the July challenge please. Could you put me down for £170 please. Hubby 's pay is 4 weekly so starts on the 6th July. I would like this to cover me and him plus 2 cats, a friend who stays regularly 2-3 nights a week (and eats for England by the way!), and a regular foster child for respite a weekend a month. I'm sorry if the words are miserly as I haven't quite got the hang of this kindle! Thanks again for all you inspirational help.

    Hello :)

I am still over on June until next week but I would like to get myself organised for July. It is a 5 week month for us but I am running down stocks as I really want to have a proper clean out of the pantry which needs decorating and the freezer needs defrosting so I am going to try for £180. This is for a family of four and a pet and needs to include all food, cleaning stuff and toiletries.

    See you next week :)
