July 2013 Grocery Challenge

I was just getting into the swing of sticking to £300 for the last two months, and only just making it, to now account for another person. My eldest DD will be back permanently, and as i took up this challenge when there were only two of us i have no idea how much i will need to spend.
So giving that :- a) it's one more person
- b) new to having to feed three again (though never really got out of the habit)
- c) it's also her birthday so will have to account for extra treats for that.
- d) it will almost be the summer holidays
Once i have got back into the swing of things, i should have a much better idea.I don't know what she has been eating since she hasn't been here, and she was making noises to be a vegetarian before she left (which youngest DD and I are 80% of the time anyway); so i also have to factor in what sort of things she is going to like to eat. Also, no clue as to whether i will have an extra packed lunch to make up too, as not sure what is happening yet re meals at school!
Good luck all and thanks to the mods etcGC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £99.65/150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Hi, i've read this thread a few times before i made myself much more conscious with regards to how much I actually spend. My month will run from 28th June till 30th July, and because its gonna be into the summer holidays with 3 kids i really need to watch how much I'm spending
Our household includes myself and DH, along with 3 kids aged 13,10 and 6. We also have a little dog who thankfully doesn't eat much!
Because this is my first month, and we will be into the summer holidays, i'm going to estimate a massive £500 This is due to my cupboards and freezer been nearly bare (been eating everything to save me from buying the last 3 weeks) so I need to do a "big" shop which needs to include toiletries, dog food, cleaning products, washing powder along with food. Hoping to stock up on a few staple products too so that means in August i should hopefully not be needing to spend as much in order to be able to take the kids for days out (can't afford a holiday this year). Might be able to stretch to a budget camping trip
Anyway, sorry for essay. I look forward to the challenge and will keep ALL my receipts and give honest feedback!Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

Thank you so much for drawing my attention to the fact that this will be a five week month for us too (well 4.5 technically) - would usually worry me but with bf away so often I should be ok (hopefully not my famous last words!)
I have planned a few meals now so have roughly estimated my spends to be top end of budget, will be spending sometime working out how to get that down a bit without getting very bored of a few basic, leftover friendly meals!************************************

Mr F bought a couple of bits yesterday but paid for them himself. While the oven is on tonight - will cook some Sage/Onion stuffing balls. I got 2 packets of stuffing cheap.
Then I will freeze the cooked balls to warm through when needed. I will also make some Yorkshire Puddings for the freezer - always like a full oven. Plus these type of cooked goodies pad out a meal.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

My July GC starts today and I am going for £150 to cover 2 weeks only until we go on holiday on 6th July. This is a generous budget to include all food, toiletries, cleaning stuff and any eating out or takeaways for 2 adults, a small child and a small dog. I am excluding alcohol from my budget this month and will track it seperately.
This is a small budget compared with what we usually spendbut I am determined to use up the stuff in the bulging freezers. I will be buying more 'quick' meal stuff as I have found this last couple of weeks that we have a lot of ingredients in but no time to make a meal as we have been so busy. We are resorting to takeaways which are not good for us, our waistlines or our finances.
We will need to take a few bits on holiday with us as I follow a special diet and I would like to get these bits and our suncreams out of the £150 but that might be pushing it a bit:cool:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

I was also aiming to monitor how much I am spending on packed lunches (for kids) but lost track!
Can you put me down for £500 for July please - running from next saturday (29th) until 31st JUly
Thank you
