I wont really be doing it for the overdrafts:rotfl:.
One would be for student loan payments (halifax) and the other for income from parents (RBS), will I be able to do this? And is there some way that the banks will be able to find out and close their accounts?

The banks can check and can revoke the overdraft and close the accounts.
Some stipulate that you have to have your student loan payment made into themNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
this question's been asked like 20 times in the past week, can't a sticky be made about it or something?:heart2:

if you're not using them for the overdrafts, why does it have to be a 'student' account? your RBS can just be a normal current account. I had 2 student accounts when i was at uni. nothing happened to me. i only used the overdraft of one.0

if you don't need the overdraft then just open another 'normal' current account- there are plenty out there to choose from0

It's normally fraud to open 2 student bank accounts. The T&Cs of student bank accounts normally say you can not open another student bank account. Also most accounts say you have to have student loan payments paid into them.
If you don't want the overdraft, open a normal current account with another bank.0 -
Well when I went to Uni I had 5 student accounts and just put money in each regularly, collected my gift for opening the account and invested the overdrafts of each for around 4 years. Made around £750-1000 for nothing

thats exactly what I did however I do think a lot of banks have caught on and so add to their T&C that your student loan has to be paid in.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -

what exactly is a student account? Where can I get details please?0

some banks do allow you to have more than one student account. I have seen the list somewhere, but cant seem to find it now.
unless it is EXPRESSLY stated in terms and conditions that you cant have more than one student account, you can have as many as you like.
however, if its written in the TC that you can only have one student account, then it is a breach of contract. the bank in question may terminate your account, or take action against it.0
