If you read Capital Ones t&c's it does state somewhere that unless there is 6 months between applications you will be rejected. I also queries this with them personally only Last Autumn and they confirmed it to me.
So if you do go ahead and apply you will just be affecting your credit file needlessly with a search. A better idea is to ring them and ask if they can reverse the cancellation, or stop it if it hasn't already gone ahead.
It's in the FAQ's, and I think they reject applications made within 6 months even if a previous application was accepted, as it advises to only apply for new products if they've held their existing one for 6 months or longer. What will your verse be?

Out of interest, has anyone who had a Capital One Visa card had it replaced by a Mastercard when their card was renewed? Or is Capital One continuing to reissue Visa cards?
I sent them a secure message last week asking if my Classic Visa was available with contactless, and if so could they send me one. They replied that they'll send me a contactless card and that it should be here in 7-10 days. I'm not sure if it will be Visa or Mastercard but I'll post here when it arrives.Disclosure: I'm a former Barclays employee. All views expressed are my own.0 -
Just rang them to see if I can stop the cancellation. Their reply "we have tried everything in our power to do so but unfortunately it has already been processed"
