PPI Nightmare GE Money & ColdSeal

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anybody else has come up against the same nightmares and problems I'm having trying to reclaim PPI ? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The Story so far........
Jul 2003 - Windows fitted in our house by ColdSeal, Funded by a First national Loan arranged by ColdSeal. (High Pressure Sale and Sign on the dotted line)
22 Aug 2003 - Paperwork arrived welcoming us to first national, and shows payment protection had been added. The Coldseal snake hadn't asked us if we wanted PPI and got us to quickly sign the paperwork.
09 Sep 2003 - Phoned First National and said PPI had been added without us knowing and asked to have it canceled off the policy. Was told by the First national people that the policy had a 14 day cooling off policy and the PPI was now non cancelable. I said i was going to write a letter but never got round to it at the time.
Aug 2008 - After seeing all the miss selling PPI stuff in the news, I thought I would contact first national / GE again and sent the standard letter from MSE to try and claim it back. Again no joy with GE so didn;t do anymore.
2012 - After seeing more and more banks etc being liable for mis-selling PPI and GE were one of those, thought i must give it another go at some stage.
May 2013 - Contacted GE on their PPI hotline and went through our complaint again, told them we were mis-sold the PPI and we want it back, They said because the policy was sold by a Broker ColdSeal it's got nothing to do with GE and that I Should contact ColdSeal Who happen to be in administration the dodgy scoundrels.
June 2013 - No Joy with getting hold of ColdSeal, so contacted GE again saying that I'm not happy with their decision and that they are closing my complaint. I explained Look, I knew we had been mis-sold the policy in 2003 and tried to cancel it just after the loan had started but was told it was out of the 14 day cooling off period and was non cancelable. GE can see on their system that i phoned on 09/09/03 To cancel the PPI, as I had not requested it, and they told me it was non cancelable.
Where is the best place to take my complaint now ?
GE gave me the Citizens advice number (Dead Tone) and the Underwriter of the Insurance Policy Pinnacle.
Thanks for any help
Tony

You will have to approach the underwiter and see if they refund you. Other than that, your complaint is over.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Hi Tony I'm in the same situation as you with Coldseal so annoyed about it all, did you manage to get it sorted out?

Tony has not revisited the forum since 6th June 2013. 44 minutes after making the post and never returned to see taff's answer.
GE Money are not liable as they didnt sell it. Coldseal did but it was sold prior to regulation. As Taff quite correctly said, back in 2013, the only possible thing here is to go to the underwriter. In a small number of cases, the commercial arrangement does see the underwriter being liable where there is no regulated broker at the time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
