I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.

    Grr! Just a little rant.

Spoke to NRP today as he was dropping off our son. He says he's still "sorting out lots of things" with the arrears, and that he was on the phone to the complaints department case manager (he named him) for ages the other day and was expecting a call back from him this week.

Aargh! I was under the impression that the case had already been dropped by the complaints department and that therefore we were stuck with talking to whoever answered the phone. Now I feel like things are scheming behind my back. Since the case was 'passed back' I've spoken to two random caseworkers and already been told at least four contradictory pieces of information.

Going to try to speak to the complaints department guy tomorrow as he seems like the only one in the whole place who is on the ball.
Grateful to finally be debt free!

Thanks for that. I'm wondering whether we can add one of those links to the sticky?

No idea how to add pdf docs to the forum.

    Much appreciated.

Best to stick with the complaints guy. Once everything is sorted out it will probably be handed back to a case officer. If/when this happens make sure you get the case officer's name and direct phone number.

Good Luck and hang on in there.

    Just to nit pick.

Would it be poss for you to edit your sticky and type Advance Payment Criteria in the title?

    Thanks again.
  • Right, so, an update...

I called the CSA. I asked to be put through to the complaints case manager, but this was refused as it seems that the case has been 'passed back' now.

On the plus side, though, it does seem that what my NRP implied about him having some way of "sorting" (erasing) the arrears was smeared with a certain amount of bovine waste; the caseworker made clear several times that he had been told that the arrears figure stands and he would have to pay it. She said that if he was having a dispute about the arrears then it was "in his head" and not with the CSA.

The payment schedule (that I still haven't received) says that the arrears payments should have started in June, but it was sent out to the NRP too late in May for this to be a real possibility so, although he is technically already a month late, I'll need to wait until July to really kick up a fuss (if he still doesn't pay anything off). Of course, he could just pay by debit card over the phone :rotfl:

Thanks for everyone's support. One more question, if I may: how exactly do I get the CSA to post me my whole case file? I've seen people mention this on this board and I think it would be worth seeing, but not sure how to go about it. Cheers.

You need to make what is known as a SARs request under the Data protection act, a quick search on here and you will find it easily enough..

Thanks. I might be having a dim moment but I've done a couple of searches and I am still struggling to find an address or instructions on what I am asking for. Sorry. :o

And address it to the Data Controller CSA

And use whatever address you normally write too...
