Time to change or stay in my comfort zone with Orange?

I posted this elsewhere in this forum and I think it got lost.
Can anyone help and advise please? My Orange Extra 35 (24mth) has now finished. The contract was initially for a Blackberry Torch 9800 (which I traded up to the 9810 last year) 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited texts and I believe, 750Mb and BT Openzone. All this for £27.41 which included the perk discount I received at the outset of the contract.
I like the package, Orange have never let me down but obviously I am paying a premium here for convenience. Included in the package, is the BT Openzone via Orange and I think this is debatable because I already get that ‘free’ with my BT BB package, don’t I?
Out of the 1000 minutes, the last bill showed I used 858 minutes and the month before something like 650, so I do not use all of the allowance each month. Texts are no problem and are used where and when needed and average out to about 250 a month.
So I am not changing the phone but want to try and reduce my monthly bill and at this stage do not want to go and sign up for 24 months and during that period find that I see a newer model or package that would be worth changing to but finding I am disadvantaged because I shall be penalised for breaking a contract early.
Orange have offered me a Sim only package, The Works (12 month) 1GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts and under ‘other’ inclusive public WiFi. All this at £21, which after my perk discount is £15.75 a month inclusive of VAT.
What do you think ‘a no brainer’ and I should sign up for it? Oh and by the way, Orange also offer in their latest brochure a T Mobile Sim only plan, the Full Monty which again is initially £21 a month but gives you unlimited data and 2000 minutes, confusing!

You mentioned you have a blackberry. Does the tariff you've been offered come with Blackberry services? Because otherwise you can add the £5 back on to that price.0

Vodafone do a similar tariff to the Orange's The Works but it includes BB services at no extra charge. Might be worth considering.
In any case, call Orange and let them know your thoughts because retentions might be able to offer you a better deal.0 -
Thanks for that, I did not think to ask and Orange customer services never suggested at the time of the call that would be the case. I'll check with them. You mentioned you have a blackberry. I'll check that out later and see how I get on. ThanksBingolingo wrote: »Vodafone do a similar tariff to the Orange's The Works but it includes BB services at no extra charge. Might be worth considering.

Hi am still with Orange and have generally had a good service.
I had a Blackberry Bold on contract, this was excellent for my needs (£20 pcm unlimited STD calls + 300 minutes), I have changed it for a Z10 and they agreed to the same payment for unlimited calls and texts.
I would look carefully at the Z10 (I am still waiting for the USB sync with Outlook, promised in February), the functionality compared with the Bold I thought was poorer. The Crackberry Forums are really good.
If you keep your current phone, I would have thought you were in a position to negotiate an excellent deal with Orange - if you change phones, a lower monthly payment.
PS I don't really understand why but you do not need the BB package with the Z10.0 -
Thanks to all, I now have an Orange Work21 SIM only 12 month contract which after discount is costing me £15:75 a month.0

I went for BB Curve upgrade at £5 a month as BB BIS is not available on EE.
And:
Telesales at EE are doing Sony Xperia SP £21 unlimited calls texts. £5 cheaper than website. Both 24 months.
EE roaming bundle can be added for £5 a month as required which if you need easy contact back home is great, you can call the countries as part of unlimited whilst roaming too
