Hi

My daughter is on pay as you go with orange.

All her credit is being used up with these charges

ap-prepaidsessio

Im not sure what in earth they are Ive searched all over the internet and not come up with what exactly is causing this and when i rang orange, they were useless.

So Ive reset her phone to factory settings and got her a new sim card (again from orange).

The same thing is happening again, so I wanted to change her to a different network, but not sure how I go about it. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

It's data usage - is he not on a package that includes any data?

Agreed, sounds like she's using data on a tariff with no data allowance. How could Horange not have explained that to her?
It's not a network issue, it's the wrong tariff.

With the current Dolphin payg package you have to topup £10 a month to get the data package allowance of 1GB.

If you don't topup the minimum amount each month you get charged for any data used. Same applies if you are a bit late topping up.

I've got an Orange phone on Raccoon (ie no data package) and that's exactly how it shows data usage if I don't buy a data bundle.

are you topping up on the right date each month, and has she changed the way she uses her phone in the last 6 months (ie new apps, new games, is her wifi option still switched on, automatic updates still switched off etc etc).

    Why sell it?

A sim only plan is far more sensible from a financial point of view.

  • If you don't want to be on here complaining about a massive bill in a few months don't get your daughter a contract.

Get the phone unlocked (if needed) by the network then get a giffgaff SIM and buy a goodybag.

    www.giffgaff.com

You have to understand how giffgaff works (you add credit then buy the goodybag with the credit) and there may be a few teething problems getting the settings right but once done you have a reasonable phone service at a fair price.
