Two phones on one contract?
Is it possible to put a family's phones onto one contract? My soon-to-be husband thinks it is, but I'm not so sure. If there's any way to save money though, I'd like to hear it!
Here are the facts:
1) We're both on T Mobile (Or EE, or whatever they call themselves this week)
2) We both have iPhone 35 (£35 per month) contracts. His expires in August this year, mine expires in December.
3) I've been with T Mobile for about 15 years, he joined 2 years ago.
4) We'd like to keep our numbers, as they're quite memorable ones.
5) We live at the bottom of a valley, so reception on any network is not great. We don't use our mobiles for calls a lot as a result, and rely on things like WhatsApp to stay in touch with people.

You can consider some 'business' tariff: Deals for multiple phones, but I think you will always be able to find a cheaper option just for two independent contracts. Loyalty costs nothing nowadays. Usually it's much better just buy new contracts via third parties and cashback sites.
Also, IIRC, some providers (Tesco?) offer some 'family perks'.0 -
most networks will allow you to add an additional line to an existing contract and quite often you will get the 2nd line at a discount.
i know vodafone do it at 15% discount
you cant just join 2 contracts together however. So you will have to wait until august for the 1 contract to finish, cancel it then open a new one as a 2nd line on the other contract.
not sure about moving the number over, it theroy it should be possible, you might have to move it to payg first then back onto the new 2nd line contract.
if you plan to keep you existing phone, then a sim only deal would work out cheaper too0 -
You can add as many as you like to an account - the contract is standard, all this differed is the various minimum terms that may apply. Business accounts are set up for multiple handsets and quantity discounts, but for family use - there's not much available that is cost effective.0
