Ok, firstly a mortgage advisor on here should not be sending you a pm touting. Be interested who this is as this is not what it is about?

Secondly, I would not be trusting the Estate Agency posse to get this one nailed for you given the strict timescales. That said, be mindful that sellers spout all sorts of nonsense at times, so I do not believe it will be that or bust.

If you call your Nationwide advisor and ask if you should do it on the internet, or wait for them given you need to move quickly; I would respectfully suggest that they will suddenly find you a sooner appointment.

Nationwide typically do not lend more than Halifax and Santander so ensure everything has been applied for consistently...

    All the best

    Hello

I havent given any details to the broker.

If he advises us to come in sooner then my partner would not be able to attend but my mother or step dad could come with me. We will also need to wait on a reference from her employer as she as only just started her current job.

We have done a MIP and the Nationwide guy even did one on the phone and we can borrow upto £214k Halifax can only lend £187k.

Then something has been keyed incorrectly in my opinion and then hope that it is Halifax that have keyed incorrectly...

Still interested in which broker sent you a pm, as strictly against the rules...

  • Hi

Agree with the others - get that application going!

I got a mortgage promise before finding a house. Found one we fell in love with the same afternoon. Offer in three days later. All done and dusted within a month!! (phew!!!)

I think if we hadn't had the mortgage promise then we wouldn't have completed within their stipulated times so I'd get cracking! :)

I also fine it better to speak with a broker or to the bank over the phone - online it said we could only borrow around £100k but when we actually spoke to someone we could borrow £175k!!! Massive difference!

    Thanks for your help.

Perhaps doing it on the phone is better. We need to explain things like my partners recent job start, but need to explain that she had been working full time before Uni and casually during.

i think Oxford Mark , it would be useful to forum members to know WHO it was
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

I will allow him time to come forward...
