The First Trust bank is to close four branches in Northern Ireland by November, but said it will not involve any compulsory redundancies.

The branches are Stormont, Finaghy, Ballynahinch and Ballymoney.

Customers affected will receive a letter explaining that their accounts will be automatically transferred to the nearest alternative branch.

The bank said staff will either move to other branches or be offered voluntary redundancy.

    EDIT:
According to their website it's the 31st July the offer ends!! ;)

Yes but my posts have been about Halifax, which is 7th July. Don't worry you got confused on 19th June as well! :D At least you are consistent! :D

Sorry I hijacked your thread a bit, I was just suggesting an alternative.

Make sure you wake up before the 31st! :rotfl:

Is anyone else doing this ? I could do with a hundred grand, so think I might as well. I just hope it goes smoothly; my better half thinks it won't as it is an NI bank...! lol.

If I thought I was getting 100 grand I'd have signed up donkeys ago!! :D

But no harm switching for a few months to get the ££, then close it again... They're sposed to pay out in the first 3 days of switching I think!

Lol, wish it *was* that amount !! Think I will go ahead with it. Best to do online, or in a branch, do you think ?

    lol :)

No notion. Prob no difference. I haven't the patience for queues so I'll likely do it online.

    EDIT:
Get a head start on your application
You can download and complete your current account application form and account switching form and bring them with you, or our staff can do this with you.
