My problem is a shortage of available DDs!! I actually only have 2. I pay everything else cash. Somehow my Halifax is accepting Paypal as one of the 2 they need, plus then I had to open (yet another!) savings account!

I had the same problem (Before I bought my house) as all I had was my phone bill

I switched from First Trust to get the £100, wonder if i switch back will i get another £100?:D
T&C's say six months. Here is exact quote:- "Offer not available for existing Halifax or Bank of Scotland current account holders or if you have closed a Halifax current account in the last 6 months."

I have finally decided to hurt Ulster Bank in the pocket, like they did me! I applied to switch online last night so I will report how smoothly it goes.

BTW this offer closes on 7th July, so if you want "free" £100 don't dilly dally too long.

Halifax is 7th July and First Trust 31st July. I'll apply for the latter in another month or so, I think, so to leave a bit of time at least between it and the Nationwide application that I made about a month ago....

For anybody that is interested here is an update on my switch.
Within a week my new account was opened and had the £100 offer lodged in it. I have received my debit card and PIN and got online access set up. About half of my DD's have been redirected from 1 August onwards and there are 3 or 4 to hear from.
So far my experience has been excellent. Again please note this offer closes 7th July.
