NPower billing disaster

We have just left NPower after a series of shocking errors by them.
They have finally managed to produce our final gas bill based on a correct final reading supplied to them by our new supplier.

This final bill simply does not add up or make any sense. It's a bill for £3 which simply cannot be correct.

I am tempted to pay it and hope I never hear from them again as I cannot face having to try and ring them - anyone got any thoughts.

Still waiting for final electricity account from them - maybe it will never arrive!

I suggest you post an image of the entire bill (obscure personal information first) if you would like any assistence here otherwise we'll just be guessing.

Or take your bill to the CAB- they will explain it for you.

Or call nPower and they will explain it to you

are your reads the new supplier provided correct?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Yes new supplier opening and Npower closing reads are correct and identical - think I'll just pay!

Thanks for offer of reviewing entire bill.

so really hats the billing disaster they billed to hat they are supposed to...... so op as above do you complain when a supplier didn't do anything wrong for the sake of it?

Any suggestion that I am having a go at Npower for the sake of it is ludicrous.
This forum is full of people having serious problems.
I have been financially compensated by them twice in just 3 months for errors they have made.
The final bill is wrong (in my favour) but has nothing to do with meter reads.

Do chanz4 and wywth work for Npower by any chance?

Today the final electricity bill has arrived - again the meter reading used is correct but the final bill shows us £80 in credit - happy days. HOWEVER this is simply not correct as we must owe them based upon our usage.

Tried to phone NPOWER but computer system going to be down all day again.

    Shambles.......

If its your new suppliers read, then take the refund

The point is bills raised on start and finish readings must be accurate. If they are not (irrespective of in whose favour the discrepancy is) then the reason needs to be investigated.

Some time ago during my switch from npower they raised a bill. Shortly after this the switch was completed and npower re-billed to the closing reading. This was (marginally) more than it should have been. They had re-calculated the bill from the start reading of the previous bill to the account closing reading and cancelled the previous bill.

The discrepancy was caused by the CV value changing. The changed CV had been applied to the whole bill instead of from the end reading of the previous bill. Although the amount was very small is of no importance. The fact that it was inaccurate is.
