Price for concrete

I've been quoted £77 per metre + vat for 6m concrete delivered fr a small outdoor area. Is this a reasonable price? I've so far only tried one supplier but could do with all the benchmarks I can get as this supplier is the one preferred by the community organisation I'm working with. Derbyshire.
Thanks
Thanks

Is that £77 / cubic metre (m3) ?
Seems OK to me
Just ring around a few suppliers.
How much do you need ? You say it's for a small outdoor area. An area of 5m x 2m at 100mm thick would only need 1 m3 of concrete0 -
Thanks. It's around the size of a netball court I think - not entirely sure, I was just asked to find the price for 5/6 metres but 5 takes it to a higher price band apparently. When I said small I meant not the size of a carpark. Sorry!0

I would check somebody's calculations ..
A netball court is 30.5 x 15.25, so if the total is 5m3, that only gives about an 11mm thickness ... not thick enough to last any time. a 50mm thickness, probably the absolute minimum would take about 23 m30 -
Sounds a fairly good price to me . I paid £200 for 2cu m (inc vat) about 2 years ago and had to ring around 4 suppliers to get that price.
I'm in the Midlands by the way.0 -

The price is heavily dependent on the haulage distance. Think of the cost of diesel fuel, lorry and drivers wages. Get other quotes, but in theory your closest supplier may give the lowest price.
The price is also dependent on exactly what mix you have specified. The stronger the mix the dearer it becomes. Cement is a very expensive component of concrete. This price can cause the price to vary by £20 per metre cube, plus VAT.
Five metres is dearer than six because a standard UK lorry can carry a maximum of six metres. Concrete is priced on this. If you order five metres on these lorries you pay an extra because the lorry is not being utilised effectively. But there is a counter argument with mini mix lorries. They burn similar amounts of fuel and have the same drivers wages. So for anything over a few metres they can be too expensive compared with a six metre lorry.
Your rate sounds acceptable to me, but without knowing the finer points I cannot give a more precise comment.0 -

I am looking to get a section of the drive concreated the quote I have got is below. Does that seem reasonable ?
The area to be concreated is 25ft (7.62M) by 8ft 2 (2.5M)
Concrete for drive/ entrance :
To supply all labour plant and equipment to concrete area shown to an approx. depth of 75mm
leaving as near level finish to existing and a light brush finish using 1:2:4 opc concrete placed onto existing hardcore
leaving site clean and tidy - all for the inclusive sum of £450"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
approx. depth of 75mm
Seems a bit too thin, if you ask me.
Take a look here http://www.pavingexpert.com/concrete.htm << full of useful information
Will it be used for a car ?
There should be steel reinforcement, in the form of wire mesh.
Somebody I know had their front garden concreted .. it looked great when first done, but after a few months there were several cracks. No joints had been used and no room for expansion around the building. Cracks were seen at every corner.0 -

Yes that is why we are doing it so we can park a car on it. I read somewhere that they had developed concreate now that does need the metal mess in it ! Anyone used this ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -

Too thin at 75mm and what is a light brush finish?
Not a quote that would inspire confidence in me.0
