wife and i booked a table at a restaurant in Falmouth, 7:30pm, not busy, two tables (four people) on desert and coffee.
One other table on starters, and one other ordering (four people)
we arrived 7:30
7:35 menus arrived
7:40 ordered drinks and meal
7:45 drinks arrived
8:15 no meal yet - not asked if we wanted more drinks or nibbles
8:30 no meal yet - asked how much longer - told it was just coming
8:35 meal arrived - not hungry now just aggrevated
8:50 finished meal - no apology from owner but they did refund our drinks
meal cost £27 for a small piece of grilled fish on new potatos, and a kebab with sweet potato chip - not terribly complicated
would you be happy to wait one hour plus fort hat?
(tripadvisor had mixed reviews - should have checked it before going i guess)

One hour and twenty minutes for a meal and drinks to be ordered served and consumed is quite normal.0

Perhaps the were waiting for the food to defrost a bit before reheating in the microwave.
This is one thing I hate about eating out, most food starts frozen and precooked. Then defrosted and reheated in the microwave.
I would rather cook my own and know it is fresh. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

it only took 10 mins to eat - the rest of thr time we were waiting with nothing - nothing to eat, nothing to drink (we asked for a jug of water - never arrived) and that was it - never askedif we wanted anything, weren't told how long we would have to wait - restaurant only had two other tables ordering besides us (four people)
as soon as i have to ask where our order is i loe my appetite and it spoils the entire experience
