Hi,

Im not sure where to post this but I really need some advice (naieve blonde).

I recently purchased a personalised wedding gift from giftgift.co.uk on 21st May, for personalised gifts they said it would take 10 working days. Conformation emails came from sales@giftgift.co.uk. I emailed them to ensure i received the product before or on thurs 6th for the wedding on the 7th June and got a reply from giftgiftuk@gmail.com saying it would be here today (4th) latest - and its not so i went to log onto my account on the website for a phone number and the website is now non existent. I have checked the WHOIS and have an address but im not sure what to do next, can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Website down may not mean anything.

Why DOH... When using a debit card.

You have exactly the same chargeback rights as a credit card.

Unless you have something stating that delivery would be by xx date, then you are going to have to wait 15 days (after debit date) and then a non receipt chargeback can be actioned.

This does not require any paperwork after 15 days. Unlike pre 15 days which requires you to provide proof of delivery date.

Edit: Maybe ignore that - it appears to be an old address from 2-3 years ago.
At least worth a call though

The address on the WhoIs matches the registered address for the company.

They've only got 1 set of accounts posted that I can get free access to, which are from 2010 and show net assets of -£5,934 - so unless things have been improved there would be no point in court action as they would probably just dissolve the company.

The were also threatened with being struck off twice for failing to submit their accounts.

How did you pay? If it was by card then wait for 15 days and ask for a chargeback for non-delivery. If it was PayPal, again go for a dispute for non-delivery.

Edit - You confirmed you paid by debit card - so as Dalesrider says go for a chargeback for non-delivery.

That's probably good news. Many online retailers only take payment when the goods are ready for dispatch :)

Wasnt sure I had the same protection as a credit card with a debit card. I have an email saying tuesday (today). Debit card date was 22nd May.

Just to clarify is this 15 business working days or actual days?
