Smart Parking

Hi
I have received a ticket from smart parking. Its says the ticket was issued by Smart Parking Ltd Also Trading as Town and City Parking (note no use of ligatures).

I received this ticket whilst shopping in Co-Op in Birmingham off the main Erdington High Street. I did not know I had to buy a ticket. I went in did my shopping from Co-Op (I have a receipt to prove this)

So long story short do I pay this.... I have been on the BPA site and had a look at the list and it does say that Smart Parking Limited also trading as Town & City Parking.

Do I pay?

Advice...

Sunna

Of course you don't pay this scam! Go back to the shop and demand that they get this invoice cancelled immediately. You are their customer!

As for smart, you either appeal or ignore them , if you appeal you need to go to popla the independent appeals when they reject it, we can help with that. If you ignore they could in theory issue a small claim. It would be a first though.

For now do nothing more than complain and wait for the notice to keeper that you will get after day 28 to 56 of the invoice on your vehicle
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Of course you don't pay - this is a scam! :rotfl:

Advice is given every single day, just a bit of reading to do and two challenges (if this was in England/Wales and only once they have written to the registered keeper, not in response to a windscreen fake PCN):

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, do that, but demand to see the Manager, not the junior on the Customer Services Desk, who will tell you that Asda don't own the land and it's nothing to do with them.

If you're fobbed off by the Manager, then you need to get back here for further advice - BUT - please start your own thread as advice being given to the OP may not be the same in your particular circumstances (and vice versa) which could end up for one (or both) of you being in a bit of a mess.

    Good luck :)

Might be worth writing to the Manager.

    Dear xxx,

Thanks for your time yesterday, and your assurance that my ticket number yyy will be cancelled. Please confirm receipt of this letter for my records.

Then you have something in writing if Smart Parking forget to cancel.
