I agree, I can't see a GP telling you if you're pregnant, you'll just get sent out to do a test at home! If you're now late, it's a good time to do another test.

As the others have said though, it may be your mind/body playing tricks on you as you may still be getting back to normal after coming off the pill. I had all sorts of funny symptoms over my months of TTC... and now I'm actually (just) pregnant I don't actually have any of them! :p

By all means, join the TTC thread if you aren't lucky this time, but please find out one way or another before joining. :) Having just left the thread I know how upsetting it is for a newbie to appear then say, 'Oh, turns out I was pregnant all along!'. :o

I "knew" I was pregnant the weekend before I was due my period and I took a test on the Saturday and Sunday(due Tuesday-ish) and they were negative. Took another the following Friday and it was positive.

I didn't have any particular symptoms, I just knew. I realise this doesn't help you at all but try not to overthink it or you'll be picking up on "symptoms" that may or may not exist.

I found out I was pregnant 1 day after my period was late.

I bought cheap (99p) tests and got a positive result after testing in the morning. To be sure that day I bought more expensive tests and waited till the next morning to take another test.

The next day I took another 99p test and the more expensive one and got positive results again on both. So buying the more expensive ones wasn't needed but wanted to be sure.

As it was the weekend, I rang my GP on the Monday thinking they'd want to confirm the pregnancy and was told no, over the counter tests are enough proof and no one would see me until I was 8 weeks pregnant.

Besides positive test results my 1st sign of being pregnant was extreme tiredness and extremely sore breasts.

Hope you get the answer you want, good luck.

When my implant was due for a change I had really sore boobs and ate everything in sight. It might be similar with having come off the pill recently? Fingers crossed for you though

and as for needing to pee a lot this happens when your uterus is pressing on your bladder and the 'baby' would be far too tiny for this to happen at this stage. It does kick in quite early because your uterus sits lower down and as you progress it moves higher up, but at this stage I don't think there would be any chance that it would be pressing on your bladder.

As far as I know, in the early stages it's caused by hormones rather than the weight of the baby. So it passes, then comes back near the end.

    Hi guys,

Thank you very much all of you - you have been great.

I'm going to follow fluffnutter's advice and keep testing until I either get a positive or my period. Either way what's meant to be will be, and if it's not a yes now I will be disappointed but that's life, and if I'm lucky enough it will happen soon.

Today and yesterday have been very uncomfortable for me to sleep at night, any position is just uncomfortable. Rolling over on either side is just *again* uncomfortable due to the heaviness of my boobs or my sides, so I end up laying on my back which I never do. So my lower back is starting to ache now.

I'm buying some more HPT's today and hopefully I'll have good news for you too, but as far as I know, still no period and still lots of obvious symptoms. Baby dust please :)

    Thanks!

I am pregnant with my first now, i didn't do a test until i was 2 weeks late by which time i was almost positive i was pregnant. i told my husband i thought i was about a week before i did my test. my first symptoms where needing the toilet at all hrs of the night, which is apparently due to you liver working harder, i was extremely tired-still am, and my nipples where so tender, rolling over in bed was so painful, that has finally eased off after 7 months i don't doubt it will return when i am bf this child. don't go looking for symptoms. i brought a double pack of tests did one at night and there was a faint blue line, did the next the following morning and it immediately turned blue!!

I am surprised that some are advising the OP that only a doctor can tell her if she is pregnant. When I fell pregnant with my first I thought this was the case too and made an appointment at my local surgery. The doctor was amazed when I asked him to confirm if I was pregnant or not. He told me straight that I needed to go and buy a test and check myself. Doctors only get involved doing blood tests in the very early stages of pregnancy if it is suspected you may be miscarrying.

Just to say this may differ around the country. Despite having taken about 10 positive tests :D, with both pregnancies I was required to see the GP before any booking in appointments with the midwife could be made. It is standard practice at my surgery/area for the GP to confirm the pregnancy via a test before anything else can be done.

I wasn't trying to get pregnant (the opposite, I was on the mini pill, hadn't missed one, or taken one late, or anything). I still had periods all the time I was on it (lots of women don't) and the day I was due I felt different, in a way it's very hard to put my finger on. So I did a test the next day, and it was positive.

That was in 2004, and my GP wasn't interested in doing another test or anything, just booked me in with the midwife.
