Survey tomorrow How long before we hear>?

Excited and scared all at once as its the only thing really that might make us reconsider.

We are having a homebuyers survey with the mortgage valuation by santander, I think they might use Eserve,

Anyone know how long before we might get the report?

Will santander know before us the valuation?

Tia

Two or three working days would be typical - the surveyor will jot it all down and get someone in their office to transfer it all into the HB rep template. See if you can get the Surveyors number & have a chat with them before and after.

Be ready to be horrified at the findings ;)

    Hi,

Ours was very quick. It was also through eServ (we're getting the mortgage from Woolwich).

The surveyor went in on the Friday and we had the report on the Monday by about 11:00! Very quick.

    eeeek thanks Mr Moo.

We had one done before on a house and were horrified and pulled out but it had a lot wrong with it. With that one we didnt get the report for nearly 2 weeks and that was only when my other half was on the phone demanding it.

Different company this time (and bank) so I wasnt sure what the norm was.

To be honest as long as its not actually falling down and is valued right to get the mortgage I think we are likely to look past a lot of things., its a blooming nightmare getting a house down this way so when it happens its a case of hang on to it what ever.

Fingers crossed it will be fine though :)

I had to wait three weeks for a homebuyer's report through Countrywide. My mortgage bod was ringing him in the end to chase, and I'd been chasing her to chase them for AGES (several conversations about it every day - they'd even said they were emailing me a copy, but hadn't even written the bloomin' thing up yet!). The valuation had been sent within a few days, but the survey took forever.

Not wanting to alarm you OP, but word of warning about esurv. Our buyer's lender used them for a Homebuyer's Report when we sold in 2011 and IMHO the guy was pretty useless.......despite spending between 3 - 3 1/2 hours at our house, he failed to spot that it was a Tudor building, saying it was built in the 1930s - which was when it was dismantled and rebuilt on the current site :o

Amongst other glaring errors, he described a new water cylinder as asbestos (it wasn't) and said a recently re-pointed chimney stack required pointing :( Fortunately he valued it at the agreed price and our buyers were sensible enough to see through his mistakes ;) Just be prepared for a few anomalies......and GL with the purchase!

Had one a few weeks ago by Esurv. Contacted them about 48hrs after to ask when I will recieve a copy. They said it had been written, and I could log into their website and download a copy (pdf). The printed version came a few days later.
