Sorry for mentioning he C word smlsave :rotfl: :santa2: It is a little early, even for me. But I do need to be organised with my 3 having birthdays so near to Christmas.
So the weekend was quite spendy  I decided on Friday that the guinea pigs needed a new house because the one they had was an absolute pain to get them out of and they've absolutely ruined the lawn. We had an eglu for them before but I've now gone for a traditional two story wooden hutch. It was 25% off though so only cost £80 which I thought wasn't too bad. I'm hoping to sell the eglu now and I think they hold their value quite well so I might make my money back. We also ended up going out for lunch whilst out shopping for the hutch which cost another £40 - that was totally unnecessary and indulgent
It was my mil's birthday on Sunday and she asked for National Trust membership  It's a nice present but cost a little more than our usual budget for parents. She's helped us a lot though so I don't begrudge spending itIt's my mum's birthday this Saturday so I need to get her present next. May is the most expensive month for us apart from Dec/Jan. I'll be glad when it's over!

Crumpets you & Mr C are doing a fab job with all you have on, I think you should give yourselves a pat on the back
Hope the hand is improving
I think Eglu's hold their value well, our next door neighbour has a huuuuge one for her rabbit, it's seriously good quality, in fact I think it's built better than our houses actually
Good luck getting the van finished, I think it'll make all the difference when you're able to whizz off on a break at a moments noticeLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
It's the last day of the month again! I'm quite glad to see the back of May as it as an expensive month for us. We've had a lovely bank holiday weekend though. We've been out for afternoon tea for my mums birthday, been to a camper van festival and a birthday party! The weather has been soo nice too, it's really got me in the holiday mood
We're off to a local food festival on Friday and we're actually camping in the van for the first time  It's not completed but hopefully it will be comfy enough for two nights. DH and I have been working so hard to get it completed, and we're nearly there :T
So were having a very lazy start to half term here, the kids are still in their pj's and are watching TV. I need to get them moving soon as we need to pop to aldi and the library. I've done a small shopping list as there are only 3 nights that we're eating at home this week so I hope to get it under £25 - I mustn't be tempted by the middle aisles in Aldi
Mortgage goes out tomorrow :T looking forward to checking the balance in the morningMortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Quick update to say I did not manage to spend under £25 in aldi, it was £45 instead  This is what happens when you have three children with you. I did sneak a bottle of their Pimms in the trolley though for a birthday party I'm going to tomorrow so I can't blame them entirely
We spent the afternoon watching The Railway Children - one of my favourites:)Mortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Once again, life has gotten in the way of me keeping up to date with this diary. I've also completely lost the plot with our finances, we have money going out, money coming in and who knows where we've ended up! I'm sure it will all balance out in the end
So positive things that have happened since i last posted:-
We sold the eglu for £220! :T £80 for the new guinea hutch plus £30 on a pen for them to eat grass equals £110 profit :T I'm really chuffed with this, as we brought the eglu 2nd hand on ebay anyway, we've definitely had our money back.
We've received about £250 PPI back from one of DH's old cc cards. This was a total surprise so is a very welcome bonus :money:
The van is almost finished! We have a loose deadline for going on holiday on July 18th...I really, really want it to be done by then. I'm not booking anything until we know we can go though. We're just waiting on the rock'n'roll bed. It should have been ready by the beginning of June and we're still waiting
I also have only one session left of my course and a shed load of paperwork to get done over the summer, but then I will be fully qualified and can start the next chapter of my life as my ds is going to school in September:T (mixed emotions )
So lots of good stuff (if not slightly stressful!)
In less positive news -
The Range have opened a shop in our town leading me to spend lots of money there :rotfl:
I've lost my engagement ring:mad: I'm absolutely gutted, it must have fallen off my finger and I didn't notice. I need to look up our home insurance and see if I can make a claim...I don't want a new one though, I loved my original one
And Obviously the biggie - Brexit! I have no idea how this will affect my family in the short term but I can't see many positives at the moment. Time will tell.Mortgage March 2011 £143,927.6
