Happy Friday crumpets! I'm already snuggled under the blanket with one of my cats watching the first episode of the new American horror Story. So rock n roll on a Friday night but blissful!

Oh but no heating on, just blankets and kitty's for warmth :D
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

  • Another one snuggled under a blanket watching a film. Better go DH has set off the smoke alarm whilst making me cheese on toast. He thinks just shutting the door will sort it!!!!

Hi Kitten and CR :hello: I hope you enjoyed your movies on Friday night? We watched Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar children - it was okay. Last night I took DD1 to the cinema which was nice. I'm enjoying her being older and taking her out to places. Not a cheap trip though - £8 on popcorn, not to mention the tickets  I love movies, especially at this time of year.

Other than that its been a quiet weekend, trips to the park yesterday and today, it's been so lovely out. I hope it lasts a while longer. I wish it was our half term this week - it will probably turn really cold next week in time for the holidays.

I managed to get grocery shopping yesterday morning - spent £98 in Mozzers. I took my own tubs and got bacon, sausage and salmon for the children. All those take away tubs are coming in handy :D I was supposed to make a Pie for dinner, but I'm not sure I've got the energy

I've got two loads of washing on the line today and it's looking good for drying :T When I had my heated airer on the other day our electricity monitor showed it using way more than it's supposed to. I'm hoping to keep it off for as long as possible now.

  • Its good to know that Mozzers will let you take in your own tubs for food. We have one of those old fashioned airers that you secure to the ceiling and it goes up and down on a pulley and rope. DH is going to put it up in the garage as we had a skylight put in this year when the garage had to be re-roofed. This will mean keeping the amount of damp in the house to a minimum (hopefully).

Another beautiful autumnal day today, I love it when it's like this, ds and I have had a lovely stroll around a wildlife park this morning in the sun - total spend £10 on lunch as entry was free.

The washing is drying beautifully on the line so hopefully no need for an airers to be used :p

Christmas shopping is starting in ernest now. I've just arranged to collect an item from FB that dd2 has asked :santa2: for. That means I'll have got the two main presents for the little ones. A friend and I were having a discussion this morning about how to not get sucked into buying stuff for the sake of it and to avoid disappointed children on Christmas morning. It's certainly difficult, and I have been guilty in the past of buying stuff just to make the pile look bigger :o It's hard when they still believe (although ours know he only brings one gift each ;))

My trip into the city tomorrow has been cancelled, which is a shame as I was looking forward to going into the new zero waste shop. Hopefully I'll have another reason to go soon. I also need to get dd1 a few items of clothing, goodness knows when she's going to stop growing  she has asked if we can visit the charity shops though, so I certainly don't mind that :D

Busy evening tonight with lots of clubs, so a quick easy tea of jacket potatoes tonight

Just catching up Crumpets... how do you scramble tofu? That's a new one on me! Sounds good though - just got to get my zero waste shop to stock it!

Well done on taking your own containers to Morrisons! :) I admit I have filched a load of takeaway tubs from the in-laws. As they shop at Morrisons though, I must ask if they've been taking theirs! ;)

The weather is gorgeous, isn't it? I sat outside for my lunch and it was warmer than inside!

You sound like you've got DD1 well trained with the charity shops :)

This is a similar recipe to the one we use we just add whatever veg we have to use up, or none. It's delicious whatever :phttp://www.thebuddhistchef.com/recipe/tofu-scramble/

I've been reading a few diaries at the moment and it seems that a few of us are struggling with energy, motivation or whatever. I have got myself in a serious funk this week and I'm struggling to get out of it. I wonder what is causing many of us to feel the same...The moon, the weather, the dark nights....who knows. I hope I can snap out of it soon though

Three more bags of stuff have left the house though, two to the charity shop and one to a friend :T

Not much else to report. We're off to visit the in in-laws tomorrow for the weekend. I'm hoping a change of scenery and cuddles with my scrumptious niece will recharge the batteries. :)

  • Yes, you're right, Crumpets, it does seem to be a bit of a trend! I don't know what it is. The weather is lovely - sunny and crisp - so I can't blame that!

Thanks for the recipe link too. I love eating that kind of food so I may ping the recipe on to OH.
    Choose kind:)
  • sending virtual hug, hope you feel more like yourself soon. Hope you and your family have a nice time at your in laws.

Thanks for the recipe Crumpets - it looks yummy!

Is everyone getting enough sleep? That was definitely what was causing my funk - days (possibly weeks) of not sleeping well (but not not sleeping, so I hadn't noticed). I've had a couple of good nights' sleep and I feel like a new person. Not looking forward to the clocks changing, mind you.

Have a great weekend with the family Crumpets! (I'm seeing my niece later :) )
