First off, I would call them and get the number put on stop or someone could be running up a huge bill !

Secondly, you can get out of a contract but you would need a settlement fee cost to end it.

Have you reported it last so they cancel the sim in the phone and set you a replacement?

Yes, you can phone up and ask to pay out the contract - I cannot remember the amount but it's generally along the lines of the monthly fee on your contract times the number of months left. If you mean "can I just walk away" - no.
    what are my options?

See above or buy a cheap replacement phone for the new sim to go in.

Get a new SIM from vodafone after getting the old one blocked. And buy another phone to use until the contract ends.

Paying the contract off would be money for nothing.

You only have option to cancel early.

The cancellation charge is your monthly line rental (minus VAT), multiplied by the remaining number of months on the contract and then minus 2%.
