Feel so much better now, thanks all, it would seem I am in normal ball park, must point that out to the nagging EA for my purchase.

Ours took 10 weeks but felt a lot longer.
  • We were on the other side of the fence and buying our first house rather than selling. It took us 6 months from offer being accepted to finally completing. :(
This was due to the SELLER faffing us about & very nearly changing their mind towards the end. A few sleepless nights for us over those months!

Originally we were told it could be 6-12 weeks but ended up being 6 long months. We had our mortgage in place, survey done, funds etc & were all set to go within a matter of weeks. After 4 months we signed the contract of exchange as solicitor said vendor was ready to exchange & complete. Yet it took them till 8 weeks later before they eventually signed, as they kept saying other things were cropping up & they didn't have time to go sign. Thankfully all went through & we finally completed. :T

Sometimes things never go to plan & usually its the seller who has problems with the buyer. But in our case it was the other way round!
