can you block numbers

wonder if anyone can help, i am on orange contract and have started to get calls from a mobile number i dont know, when i ring it back it either says "this number is not in use" or "the mobile you are calling is turned", is it possible to block numbers from calling you coz its really getting to me

Your best bet is to ring 150 from your Orange Phone and talk to Customer Services, they may be able to do it. If it becomes nuisance calling then usually Orange will offer you a mobile number change

Just another thought, not very successful on the whole but if its abusive or malicious etc you can also consider reporting it to the police who can report the number to the network as well... This generally is only of any use if the malicious caller is on contract as most PAYG phones can go unregistered

cant say they are malicious coz they put the phone down straight away, i had the same number call my house phone last weekend and they put it down when my daughter answered, its starting to freak me out

Thats completely understandable, get in touch with orange and they'll help you through it. If it persists on your landline, call BT as well.
