Sky O2 offer questions

Hello all. Just reading the Sky early migration offer for O2/BE customers and have a few specific questions which I could do with a little clarification.
If I read correctly Sky are offering Unlimited Broadand and Sky+ for free for 12 motnhs for taking out a £14.50 line rental package with them.
I have a small problem in that I don't have a TV licence as I don't watch Live TV.
Would it be legal to give the Sky+ box and card to my parents to use whilst I am paying the contract as I don't wish to have live recording equipment at my property if I do not have a TV licence?
The only other option seems to be available from Sky is paying £2.50 a month for not having sky and just taking broadband and line rental at £14.50 but obviously this will cost me £30 over taking out the 'free' TV package?
Any ideas?
Kind Regards.

Pay your line rental for 12 months up front, it will cost you £119.40, thus saving £54.60, or $.55 /month. ....and forget the tele. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

After the way Sky are dealing with my billing, I won't be staying.Three days and the matter is not only unresolved; it's worse.
I took O2's free 12 months at the end of April and all was fine until Saturday, when they texted that I was being billed for £13.95 on June 14th. I complained, it was 'sorted', but then I had an email, stating the same, so complained again.
I had a call back, saying everything was sorted, but today, on rechecking, find that they actually took the payment yesterday!
The call centre person, said he'll try to stop the payment, or refund, if it's too late, and tried blaming the 'error' on fact that I took up the offer on the last day...but that was in april, so nonsense.0 -

Yeah, When I signed up it was through a 3rd party company as I live in a flat. I gave them the unique code which I got in my email but they didn't add the offer to my order! Called Sky up and they fixed it in 2 days. Sky Tv is now installed and the 1 month advanced bill for that came at £0.00. With free installation and broadband equipment. Just waiting for my telephone and broadband to be activated on the 5th June. Hope I dont get any bill surprises with that. Im sure it will be £0.00 for broadband and half price line rental at £7.50Save money, get the things you want! Blow it all, regret it!0 -
No since the Sky box usually has to be plugged into the Telephone line since it may do 'callbacks' to ensure it is being used at the correct property - this is to prevent abuse of multiroom or residential subscription being used in a business setting..
