It is seriously good cover but the picture on the front page tells you all you need to know about the sort of policy holder they are looking for.......
Don't think they would be interested in quoting for my 15 year old audi0 -
I would be interested in what your HPagreement states regarding someone else having the car. To get out of it you can state that agreement as being the reason it's not possible.0
-
As above:
1. Add them to your insurance and get them to pay the extra amount plus deposit to cover excess. If they have an accident then it's your insurance - and NCD - which takes the rap.
2. If they are using someone else's insurance you MUST see a copy of it. If you just take their word for it, and they are stopped by the police / have an accident, and the insurance is not in fact valid, you run the risk of a Permitting No Insurance prosecution - which you really don't want on your record.
You need to see something on the insurance certificate which states that the named drivers on the insurance policy are insured to drive vehicles owned by someone else.
If your friend is covered by that insurance certificate, then it will - as already stated - only be 3rd party cover. So if they injure or damage any other person's property, the insurance will pay out. But it won't pay off the damage to your car.0 -
normaly as others have said the driving other cars is only for the main driver of a policyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Options include:
1) Add to your policy as a Temporary Additional Driver - your NCD is at risk
2) Add your car to their policy as a Temporary Additional Vehicle - can cause arguments in fire/ theft claims
3) Allow them to drive under DOC if they have it - accept there is no cover for your vehicle which may breach your HP agreement
4) By temp cover - similar to 2 above but removes the theft/ fire issue as temp cover doesnt normally have this
Any thing that involves them buying the insurance you should have sight of the document proving they have cover prior to letting them have the vehicle. Allowing someone to drive your car without insurance can result in you getting into legal trouble too0 -
Not worth the risk is it really. If they are a named driver on someone's policy they won't be insured to drive yours.
Tell them no. Plenty of hire car firms have reasonable rates if they need a car short term.0 -
Thanks for all the replys.
i have told them they wont be covered, and they couldnt pay the 10.000 if they wrote my car off.( very slim chance, but it could happen)
