7 week wait for home move installation

Options
hi, is talktalk breaking its contract by making me wait 7 weeks for a home move installation after they bungled the first move date? if so can i end my contract and go with someone else without penalty?
booked for 29-4-13 only to wait in and no show. only found out they were not coming after i phoned them on a costly mobile call. and then to be told that the new date was 15-07-13!

Your contract does not commence until the service does, so yes you can cancel without penalty.
But be aware that a new line provision (if this is what was required) is done by BT OR regardless of actual provider, so if you go with someone else then the lead time will be similar-and you'll be at the back of the queue again.
5 weeks is a fairly normal lead time.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
