Hi, sorry if this has already been answered, but I can't see it! I am hoping to switch a current account from Lloyds to Halifax using there switching service, for which I will hopefully get the £100 switching incentive. However in order to switch I had to set up two new direct debits on the Lloyds account prior to switching. The Halifax T&Cs state that they must be active DDs when you switch. As mine are new on the Lloyds account no payments have been taken yet, and I know one of them will not be taking a payment until mid July. The offer for switching to the Halifax account ends on 7th July. As the DDs are showing on my Lloyds account DD list but not showing an amount, payment date or frequency yet will they still count as active to meet Halifax's T&Cs?

"Active" means not dormant (ie lapsed after 13 months of non use), so you should be fine to switch.

My OH has had 2 sole Reward accounts since they were introduced, always got the £5s. He set up the required 2 DDs on both accounts in March, but on one account only one DD was taken in April for some reason. However he did get both the £5s in May.

In May both DDs were taken from both accounts and £750 paid into each, so we thought everything was in order, but he did not get the £5 on the account where the second DD was not taken in April.

I cannot see that he has not fulfilled the conditions so am stumped. No letter or anything from Halifax.

    Has anyone experienced anything similar?
