Does anyone know if a couple of annual direct debits is acceptable to qualify for the monthly reward? Or do the DD have to be paid out each month?

And an employee said it had to be two different org's each month in this extensive thread from when the changes came out:

Strange thing is that it doesn't say different organisations anywhere in the T&Cs, just "2 different direct debit mandates", so not 1 DD which is taken twice a month.
But you do need at least 2 which are paid each month.0 -
That's true, but as the OP of the linked thread was right about the changes generally, the consensus seemed to be that it was better safe than sorry, especially as there are a number of fairly easily available options.0

The Halifax chappy who started the thread about the changes back in January did say that the "difference" will be established via the OINs - - Originator Identification Numbers. The OIN is, afaik, not visible to customers.
The OP did also say that he didn't know whether one company would only ever have one OIN but suggested we should assume so.
Anyway, as AlwaysLearnin says, it is easy enough to get 2 DDs with two different organisations.0 -

Agreed. Tesco and Post Office are completely different for example, and £1 in each per month will be adequate. Both are fairly poor interest wise, but on £12 I don't think you'll get much return wherever you go.0 -
I would cry foul at that. I think my Tesco credit card DD is quite different from my Tesco savings DD."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

didn't get my £5....i guess it's because although i have 2 DD's set-up they are not active?0

Indeed. My reward account DDs are all to former Egg YBS savings accounts and the fivers are still rolling in.0
