    Hi
I'm an ex biomedical science student.
I can't advise what to do your dissertation on, it depends on what you are interested in and what area you want to work in after you complete your degree (might be helpful when you have to start going for interviews)

However, the advice i can give is to talk to your tutors and get some suggestions from them, especially as they will have idea's from previous dissertations.

Personally i would avoid any lab work if you can, as the results dont always come out the way they should and its more difficult to explain why something hasnt worked tahn to explain good results.
I envied my fellow students whose dissertations revolved around research rather than lab work.

However, that s just my personal opinion and you might feel differently about lab work.
