Really you need to introduce a muzzle slowly. Buying it and taking a dog straight out for a walk with it rarely works - usually ends up with behaviour like you're describing. The behaviourist Chirag Patel does a fab video on introducing a muzzle

Yes, I know. But as she was already wearing the fabric muzzle with no problems and the baskerville went on without any difficulty I thought it might be ok. And the basket muzzle is just for acclimatisation short 5 minute walks round the block with lots of treats for now till she does get used to it.
I think some of the pratting around is also tied in to a strong wish to roll around on the grass and scratch her belly and back now the sun has come out, as she does it on the lawn when she's not muzzled as well.
She has a knack for either making me laugh or making me want to swing for her, with no in-between. Then again, that's the joy of a bull terrier, they've all had the same effect. :)
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
