No, you'd pay your own solicitors fees, and he would pay his. Adultery just proves to the court that the marriage is ended.

Hayles-honey, you know that I'm local. I've just finalised my divorce, so if you fancy a chat at any time about the process and help with the forms, I'm here for you :) I think you could probably divorce him on grounds of unreasonable behaviour (adultery is harder to prove unless he admits it). If you want to look into it, the Wikivorce website is really good.

I gather you might be going to a mutual friend's hen party in 4 weeks? Alas I've got something else on that day, so I can't come and be a hippy with the rest of you :(

Ooh small world! Ahh such a shame you can't make it, would've been nice to see you again :) And thanks for the offer, I appreciate it xx

One thing to bear in mind is that you need to (re-)make a will. If you don't have one now, any and all assets will go to him. If you have one, and do not change it, the assets will be distributed according to that existing will.

I *think* that any subsequent divorce would revoke any will existing at the time (unless made in specific contemplation of divorce??), so what I've just written is of more importance if divorce doesn't start imminently.

Thanks, I don't have a will. Aside from some business equipment and my dogs, I don't really have any assets. If I were to die, I wouldn't have an issue with him getting the dogs and I don't mind about any of the other stuff. If I had savings or anything like that then I would definitely sort out a will to make sure he couldn't get it.

You don't have to play the lottery - what if you were to inherit a large (or any size) sum of money?

I would just go ahead and petition for divorce if I were you.

IMHO, being legally tied to someone who's cheated on you/abused you is soul-destroying.

    Good luck xx
